Talking Recommend me a DAC and some software

SO I have the hardware part of my RGB projector figured out, but I'm totally lost on software.

It seems there are so many different programs and DAC's available, I dont know which to choose! I know pangolin is great but I'm not sure if I have the budget for it.

I'm looking to spend no more than $500 or so on a DAC and some decent software... what does PL recommend???

I definitely want to try the free stuff eventually, but I think with my first scanner I just want to buy a good set so I can just plug it in and go.

So this FB3 that everyone speaks of, is this a DAC that includes software??

Lightbulb Just my honest opinion here...

... Bite the bullet and kill the credit card... At least get a QM2000 Intro. I bet there is a holiday deal to be had; the Man is a member.

If its extra free! , does that mean we get money to use it?

Yes, FB3 comes with software as well; LiveQuick, ShowRider, Abstract, Draw and Trace.

I'm brand new to all this and very impressed. Bill will also give PL members a great deal.

Agreed... If you want to make a saving, go straight for the QM2000.. I have an FB3 and it is a mindblowing bit of kit, but once I had that I was so blown away, I simply had to see what the QM was capable of... I was blown away once again..

It's a bit like buying a Porsche Boxter, you know one day you will have to get a 911.. <---------------- Not speaking from experience, except in a dream once
