Go to google and look up "op-amp audio mixer". You can run both signals to an op-amp (several op amps actually, 1 for X, 1 for Y, etc.), then you wont have to "flip a switch", just send a signal from one or the other.

some scanner sets have these built in like the scan pro 20s. i have been thinking about this myself cause im going to rewire the ilda connector on one of my projectors but i still want the dmx and sound feature if i want it.
im still trying to work it out but im thinking of doing it by having everything wired into a moveable plug on the internal of the projector then move it from the dmx program board to the ilda connector when needed.
this might not help u though mate cause you need to already have the dmx program board.
cheers ollie
similar to the black connector below but it wont be going directly to a db 25 connector. it will go to the scanners, lasers ect. the black connector will then plug into either the program board or the db25 connector
sorry my explanation is pretty bad

hi iv been looking into this a bit more and the easiest way i have found is to use double pole double throw switches for each diode then one for scanner set. for what your trying this is not a very good option im affraid cause there will be at least 4 switches.
im sort of hijacking this thread and im sorry in advance.
recently i have been having a problem with a rgb laser system. the output on the program board to the green laser has been outputting a small voltage even though my laser dac has not been outputting any voltage. not sure where the voltage is coming from but i was just going to rewire so it only ran off ilda.
iv been thinking about it and i still really want the dmx and sound active operations cause sometimes i have house partys and dont want to have to set up dacs and computers.
iv been looking and iv decided on something pretty simple i think will work.
the only output that has a problem is the green diode so i was thinking of putting a double pole double throw switch to select either the ilda connector or to select the program board.
this picture is all on the control circuit and in my case only for the green diode the rest of the install will remain as is.
not sure but would be good to see what people think if you can understand what i mean.

so basically you would have a 25 connection switch to change??? That seems very expensive. I had to buy a 9 pin switch for a project and that was hard to find.
CLICKY!!!

I use a 2-way four pole toggle switch for this in one of my green/violets with 30k chinese galvos and I have never seen/heard any strange noises or blinks when using it. It switches the x,y,g & v(b) signals. I have single ended signals (cheap drivers, unmodified USB-DAC) so a bigger switch would need to be used if I wanted balanced.
I'm thinking of trying using high quality analog switches, one of the DG series from Maxim-IC maybe. It could be driven from the galvo amp +/-V.
i think it would probably be expensive if doing the whole projector but i only need to do this on the green diode signal as this is the only one im having trouble with. a double pole double throw switch is pretty cheap and is a very simple solution to my problem.
