    That is a directional lighting unit. It could have been used for a lot of applications. Plug it in and see how it does!

    that looks like standard lighting from a retail store or work lights for a stage or warehouse.

    it looks like standard industrial lighting fixture to me. throw some bulbs in there and turn the bad boy on!!

    I know some of my collegue photographers use continous lighting for product photography and stilllife photography.

    Often these type of fixtures are used in combination with TL/daylight lamps..
