    I don’t think it would

    Think of the QM2000 as a motherboard on a PCI card and the adapter board as a network card on a motherboard

    It’s a typical SBC (Single Board Computer) setup.

    I believe you are correct Loopee. I think the point of the QM2000 is that it was an entire computer that could play and process shows in real time. Why it costs as much as it does is beyond me though...

    Maybe because it's proprietary, function-dedicated hardware and firmware, being custom produced in relatively small numbers...
