And welcome to a lovely corner of t'internet.

I run my lasers via DMX (sometimes) and with this method your output will be limited to the preset patterns stored within the projector.
The first couple of channels will be the power and pattern selection followed by various functions such as zoom, rotate, stretch, flip etc.
With a simple DMX desk the output (viewed as beams as opposed to graphics aimed at a target such as a scrim or wall) will be adequate.

cheers for that , can i make each laser do separate fx's through the dmx controller or will they do the same thing ?
    cheers

As both lasers are different and you have not mentioned if the Laserworld has DMX connections or not. I can 99.9% guarantee the graphics etc will be different on both lasers.

On the AT (twin) laser as it only DMX as you have not mentioned it having an ILDA connector it will only ever play the built in shows.

The Laserworld laser will play whatever patterns (well nearly) you send to it from whatever DAC you use. If you get an FB3 that can be controled via DMX to send patterns to the laser. Plenty of users on here have FB3s so you should be able to get some more help if you go that direction.

There are other DMX SD DACs out there that you can create ild files and save them to an SD card and then using DMX send the appropriate show to the laser.

If you want both lasers to do the same thing then you will need to create replicas of the built in shows from the AT (twin) for use on the Laserworld laser.

As for DMX controllers it depends on how many channels you need to control the AT (twin) and then how many channels you need for whatever DMX DAC you end up getting. There are plenty of cheap manual (with sliders) dmx controllers available, just look in the majority of DJ stores under lighting.

As for software for creating shows that will end up being a personal preference, DAC and money thing, if you get the FB3 it has some good software that comes with it.

    Hope that helps,

I'm a bit confused as to which Laserworld laser you've got.

Is it the CS (Disco) series?

I have the RS (Show) series.

I'm lucky as mine is over the stated power however, many others have had lasers below power. A test with a meter internally is the only way to find out where yours lies.

That said, provided you're happy with it, it doesn't really matter in the end.

Power Meters are very expensive. Best to get along to a UKLEM Meet and ask someone if they can test it for you there. Several members have meters.
