    Default QM2000.NET jumpy output!?

    Hi everyone.

So I am trying to set up my new QM2000.NET laptop version, connected to Intel 82567LM GIGABIT Ethernet controler and it does not work very well.
Laser output as well as what is on the screen is very JUMPY or CHOPPY? It si not smooth at all....FPS changes all the time from 30 to 1 and this happens to all cues. It actually looks like I am running LivePro on ZX Spectrum computer and not Dual-Core machine with 4GB of ram.
    I have LivePro Basic 4.50.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers.

Has this problem started happening since .net upgrade?

Do you have any issues playing a showtime show?

I would check to see that the cues are only being output to one projection zone in the cue properties in LivePRO..

I'd have said cable length might be to blame (too long) but if it's happening on the preview screen too then it points to an issue with the PC.

Make sure all the network connections are working as they should ('ping' the .NET box and make sure it has consistent network communications). If the network is OK, it sounds like you might have some internal issues with your QM2000.net box. Mine takes a bit longer to load than a QM2000 PCI card would, but I've never had any kind of issues you mentioned.

If you haven't already, I recommend you contact Pangolin directly using the "Contact.." link on their web page. Provide as much descriptive information as you can (including the serial # of your .NET box). The folks at Pangolin are usually pretty quick to reply to technical issues.

Good luck, and please keep us posted on what you find out!

    Default Sorted!

    Thanks a lot guys!
    That was quick!

I don't know why (or actually I do), but where is some Windows related solution possible I always try that first. And it was the problem with Dual-Cores so I used this patch: http://www.pangolin.com/ubb/showflat...&vc=1#Post1501.
I was messing with this for 2 days, after your replies sorted in 2 minutes!

    Cheers dazebtwn...and all.

Had the same problem here... On a job. Went back to the office to get another computer (not dual core) and that worked.. Installed the patch after the show when I had time to find out why the h*ck my output was jumpy!

Wow - who would have thought THAT would be the problem!

Glad it was a cheap, easy fix - and now we know what to look out for! (Glad I was wrong!!)

    Thanks for posting the fix!

The MS-Patch is for XP SP2.
It should be included in SP3 or am I wrong?

    Default Vista

Has anyone seen this problem with Vista?

I have Live Pro running on a 2GHZ Dual Core Centrino with 3GB RAM running Vista Home Premium (not through choice). But here's the thing: If I start Live Pro I get the jerky output both on screen and to the laser. Turning off the preview window makes no difference, but then if I restart it, everythings fine... Wierd !!!! I haven't had time to do any tests yet but the patch on the Pangolin site only works with XP and I can't find a Vista patch...

I have a big show to do tonight and spent two days trying to stop my Vaio laptop from blue screening every time I run Live Pro. After a lot of testing this was actually down to the Radeon graphics card being crap and blue screens on any graphics intensive application....

So I had to go get a new laptop. Of course you can't get an off the shelf laptop in a rush without Vista preinstalled these days. So, I ended up with a Toshiba Satellite L300 and a day to try and get everything working. To be fair, other than the 4hr boot up time, the machine is pretty quick and stable. But I have no idea why I get this sporadic jumpyness in Live Pro...

    - Try to ring Pangolin HQ
    - Get a XP CD from the internet (yes, "illegal", but I wouldn't care because they don't give you the choice and only deliver a stupid, buggy, heavy and SHIT Vista to OEM-ers and install it on your laptop. XP Genuine crack can be found on the internet or just PM me (downgrading IS legal so I wouldn't care downgrading using a crack instead of the complete downgrade procedure with M$hit))
