    Default Poly 20 Wheel Availability?

Now that Laser Visuals has stopped selling the Poly 20 wheels (confirmed), any suggestions on another source?

I've left email for MediaLas and Creative, but no reply so far.

Any other ideas? I'd be ok with just the wheel, no stepper motor needed.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Default Help is on the way...

I will help you get it. I'm thinking of starting up selling Lightworld gratings again. I'll get you a quote....

To add to this... If anybody knows of a compatible stepper motor and driver that DOES return to the same position each time I would be very interested..

Another thing, I am not sure if my wheel is damaged or dirty... I have tried cleaning it with Isopropyl and it physically looks smeared and the exit beams are badly blurred...

If damaged I have no choice but to replace it, but if not.. Does anybody know a safe and easy way to clean these things?

By the way I tried calling Peter Mayer at Creative Laser yesterday, but no reply.. I am guessing they have packed up for the Christmas break.. I know when I have been to Germany in the past Christmas is a big thing over there..

Same here - one that could be reliably driven by a DMX decoder!!

    Default Cleaning the gratings

I've got some cleaning instructions around, I'll try to find them. But I get best results with plain water. Don't use any more solvents until I find my instructions to check which are OK to use - some of them can seriously damage the gratings.

All who want the Poly-20, PM me with your contact/shipping details. We can put it in one order.

Stepper motors - it's a big ??? now. Peter told me last year he was going to stop selling the motors because every one that bought one needed special attention to make them work. I'll check on the curent status.

    Default Cleaning

OK, since I am on the road at present I pulled this off CLP website:

    Cleaning gratings:
isopropylalcohol with fine tissues. You may use also methanol, athanol, standart classcleaners with attention to additional ingredients (color etc.) You shut not use aceton, gasoline, trichloraethylen. Avoid high tension or scratches during cleaning procedure.

The isopropyl alcohol should work! I just remember going into the bathroom at ILDA with Peter one time to clean a bunch of gratings with water, it always does the trick for me.

    Lightbulb

Isn't pure water the universal solvent? I mean pure water as clean, soft, distilled... Not tap water.
