    Default S-KY 150mW 473nm laser module - going soon!

Up for sale is a 150mW 473nm analog modulation laser from S-KY that I reviewed a while ago. When kept cool it runs quite over spec, around 180mW, up to 200mW.
Last chance to buy this beast before it gets returned, as the review is complete!

    $1600, offers will be considered.

    Thumbs up

Damn, that is a nice looking unit. Just a bit late... How was the modulation on this unit?

Modulation is good for shows. It starts at 2V (so your software should have a settable threshold) and at high speed (as in shows) it's pretty linear all the way to the end at 5V.

    Nice review.
I like how you explain about temperature effecting the power curve.
I have noticed this with all of my DPSS lasers,
I have RPM controlled cooling fans that go by my base plates temps.
This has helped with keeping the lasers somewhat stable

My projectors have TEC controlled beam tables...no worries there. I have my laser torn down to install a better pump diode collimation optic...I would be interested to have you run the "full monty" on it when I get finished...again. BTW a very intensive review.....well done. I assume no internal cavity pix? Would like to know if they have offset the LBO on the M axis to compensate for thermal lensing. Seems a common practice...

Thanks for the comments, yes I could run tests on yours if you like. I promised not to open the cavity seal to keep the laser as new, so the warranty is still fully intact so no info there, sorry .

One think I found on the one they sent me was that the cavity is not sealed. It has a 1mm or so gap around the edges and the wire input is not sealed.

This one has no gap and the wire entrance is tight.

Blow on it over the gap where the top meets the body of the laser. You will hear what I mean. It was for sure not sealed on mine.

Got back now.. I didn't blow on it but lit a laser across the mating area. I still can't tell if there is a glue seal to the optic cavity or not but a thin piece of electrical tape could be applied around the seam for peace of mind if you like.
