Default I'm Back! New project in the works

Ok, I'm back from a long time of not posting. After building my 400mW RGB projector, I've been doing shows with it, and everyone loves it. Now, I'm sure some of you know Infected Mushroom.....well, I hired them for an event I'm throwing. For this event, I want something even more spectacular than just the band. So, here comes my new projector I want to build.

I should start buying all the components shortly. I will be in desperate need of help, like last time. I'm just not savy with all of this.

This is what I want, one housing with a 1W rgb split into to scanners, and a 1W green in the center with a set of separate scanners, all controlled by Live Intro LD2000. I don't know if anyone has built anything like this, so I figure maybe members would like to help out and see something new.

    Laser specs

    400mW 671nm
    300mW 532nm
    200mW 473nm

    1W 532

    3 sets of 50k scanners

    Beam splitter, all optics

    LD2000 intro

My estimated total comes to $8500. Does this sound like something worthwhile? If you're from the NE region, and you like infected mushroom.....come out to my event, you won't be disappointed

This is what gave me the idea. It's going to be the same thing as this show.....but in one housing.

    Thumbs up

Welcome back man! That is nice sounding project you have planned. Sounds a little like liteglow's beam rider a little. I would probably double that 671's power. I have about 300mW of 660 and my white is a lil blue-greenish with only 100mW of each 473 and 532. I am hoping to add 100 to 150mW of 635 to mine.

I'd talk to Bill about your QM purchase soon though; there is a holiday sale on upgrades. I am not sure if there is a sale on new cards...

And don't forget the build pictures.

Wow, it sounds like you are a man with a plan!!

If the projector is mainly for beam shows, i would ditch the 671 in favor of 635nm

I'm near Syracuse now, but I'll be moving towards Albany on the 1st. No, Infected Mushroom isn't cheap......$10,000 and that's a sweet deal. We got lucky to catch that, it's their only date available on the east coast. The next night they're going down to NYC, and that's a $20,000 performance. I think because we can only fit 700 people *legally* in this venue, they lowered the price. I think they will allow 1000, if not, we are planning to sell out. So if you would like to come, I'd probably buy a presale ticket.

Tickets go on sale January 1st. $30 presale, $35 at the door.

I may get a mixture of 635nm and 671nm, or just get a 635 and 660 in higher power? This project must be done before the show!
