Hi, I've got a tiny mirror attached to a mount but I want to remove the mirror and put it on another mount...how can I get it off without breaking it?
Thanks.

Do you know what the adhesive is? It is rather important for the choice of method, although they generally involve either heating or freezing. Epoxy for example is degraded at high temperatures and can typically be removed by heating it for a while (to ~200°C).
thanks for the reply.
No idea...![]()
if its a superglue and not a epoxy or silicone, try soaking in acetone for a few hours, then gently twist. If you feel it loosening, more soaking, then twist it off.

heat gun, move it around dont get too close to optic
Or a soldering iron. MediaLas recommend this in the WideMove manual. Just take care to clean the bit first, so no solder gets on to anything. And heat it slowly if possible, or that mirror will crack.
Thanks all. I'll give it a go and let you know.

Really easy, the glue is brittle, use a crescent wrench and twist it lightly. The glue will pop off and leave the mirror unharmed. That's what worked for me.
CLICKY!!!

If its epoxy, boiling in water usually works.
