Yeah you'll have been in the main room. There's a side room off to the right before the lobby. Its quite small by comparison but large enough for a meet.

The main room is HUGE as you said. Capacity is 5,000 in the main room.

Somewhere along the motorway would be more convenient, much easier to find. especially for people who are coming from further away.

Also @ stanwax, that monster Ar/Kr runs off of single phase !?!?!

Jem - Can you get more details/photo's of the place you have mentioned?

I know Surfleet is not exactly on the beaten track and it's small compared to some places, including Mark's Nightclub venue, but it has got good facilities which can't really be ignored.

If all else fails then please consider it people as we didn't really use it to it's full potential

There where also issues with accommodation , sheep in the rooms, looking after pet goldfish while the owners nip to the shops and visits from strangers in the night kinda thing, but there are more 'upper market', less 'friendly' places close to hand

We are not all weird over ere you know

    Cue soffy boy

Well now you mention it there was a kind of "Hotel California" vibe to The Riverside Hotel".
You can check out but you can never leave. Unless it's via the stew ..........

This a local hotel for local people..........

I certainly can. However, i'm very aware that I don't want to step on anyones toes with this. I'm really just trying to be helpful with a fairly central location and there's loads of accommodation nearby.

I'll try to get some photo's this weekend(ish) as i'm out all day Saturday. Whilst i'm more than happy to organise this, again, I must stress that i'm offering this venue as an option only if other options fall through

    Cheers

If it's a central location you are after then you can't get much more central than the West Mids.

I've already checked out the newly refurbished Bilston Town Hall (couple of miles from J10 of the M6).
Very nicely appointed building that can hold up to 250 peeps so the size is ideal for our use.
Unfortunately they want £200 for the first 5 hours then £40 per hour afterwards.
A bit pricey for us poor (?) Laserists.

    But the search continues .............

Is it worth me getting an overnight, 2 day price for Surfleet or is it to be considered just too small/in the wilds?

Would it not be interesting just to compare?

Bilston may be central England its not very central for the UK and considering there are members in Scotland, somewhere more centrally located for the UK as whole would make sense I would have thought.
