I just threw The West Mids in as it's pretty central when looked at a map, well served by the M1, M6 and M5 and I don't mind doing some leg work to scope out locations but if we're getting all techy then someone should start looking for a hall in Whalley, Lancashire as that's been verified as the centre of Great Britain (including those celtish buggers).


Anyone live nearby?

Note: if we start to include the Islands of Great Britain then the centre moves slightly but it's still Lancashire.

Or we could just hope that Fluff comes through for us yet again.

I'm probably the closest PL member to Whally Lancashire as I live in Preston but I know nothing of the town. I'm trying think of any possible venues in Preston but nothing springs to mind at the moment.

I was just suggesting the North of England because when you take Britain as a whole, Nottingham, Sheffield, Barnsley area falls more or less dead centre.

Bilston is central to England but a long way South of Central from Scotland - West Midlands map from the Wiki:

Just something to consider guys ...and to find out if this consideration is unique to me .... this is a Special Year !! i dont think it is often the ILDA conference comes close to UK ! ( this year its amsterdam )

Due to travelling and expense and time its likely there will be 3 events i consider must visits ... UKLEM 4 , ILDA onference and UKLEM 5 ..BUT it would be difficult to attend all 3.

I suppose a straw pole is in order as to if anyone else might have to consider dropping out of one of the UKLEMs i order to prioritise for the ILDA conference . I have never been to one but my understanding is its open to all ... not just members ......... and theres is a few meetings as well as the big awards in which some pretty high level laser shows are produced

Would it be worth considering just having 1 main UKLEM this year ...my tuppence worth would be to consider holding it in june a few days before the ILDA as it might be easier for most to organise holidays that way ?

personally i would attend all UK meets as they are only a few hours drive for me.

would luv to go to the ILDA one but dont think its possible

Apart from having knee replacement surgery on the 22nd Jan which might have prevented me from attending a Feb meet, the fact that I have just received a polite email telling me that my job of 22yrs is over more or less seals the deal
