Since southpark is a "running on Zeros" animation, ie they only change the backgrounds very rarely, all you have to do is capture the moving mouths and arms and rare backround changes. Piece of cake if I were a programmer, but I'm not.

Good animations are running on threes or running on fives, ie new background for every three frames or five frames, Ie The flintstones is on fives, and most Disney is on threes.

    Hmm, if he's interested -

Sounds like a possible project for that gunslinger "Jimmy the Kid"...

But on the other hand Bluray is still not a mainstream product here. there are still more DVD sold compared to Blu-ray.

Is anyone of you comming to the Pangolin meeting held in Amsterdam this year?
    Same here -
DVD's still generally run a bit cheaper for new releases, and a LOT cheaper for older releases. I would be willing to bet it will still be a few years before Blu-ray outsells conventional DVD - although our mandated switch to HiDef broadcasting next month may serve to speed things up a bit.

Hmm - a bunch of PL laser geeks in Amsterdam. From what I remember of my visits there in the early '90's, that sounds like a dangerous combination!

    Cool - when is it?

    Just imagine.
Sex, drugs and lasers... Sounds like a typical lasermeet in amsterdam

I think we dutch people do have big possition in the laser industry for such small country.
We have allot of very big raves with even bigger Lasershows (Dancevalley, Mysteryland, Sensation, Qlimax, Impulz etc etc etc.) all 20.000 people or more. Just search on youtube for those names for amazing lasershows.

One of our biggest export products is Housemusic (Tiesto, Armin van Buuren etc.) Non of those DJ's will give a big party without an amazing lasershow.

Are there also allot of raves in the US with big lasershows?

AVB is house? Didn't know that. Need to tell the clubs here that, so they start playing some better music.

Re: laser regulations. I expected new regulations here at the end of the year, but it seems it will take another. The matter was referred for consideration last fall. Anyway, once the new regulations come into force it will be illegal to carry a "portable" laser more powerful than 5 mW without a permit.

Audience scanning is already completely forbidden and you need a permit every time you want to use lasers in a public place (costs at least $400). I'd say laser safety is taken pretty seriously in Sweden, but then it's probably the safest country in the world... (just think Volvo).

Dude, I wasn't EVEN about to go THAT route - talk about getting f'ugly!

Besides, I've been to the red...oops, nevermind!

Nah, you guys are OK - I was fortunate to spend time in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Lieden back when an American GI stationed in Germany would get a warm reception when they traveled to the Netherlands.

(and yep - I was single at the time...)

Y'all do talk real funny, though!!

As far as the US Rave scene goes, you'll have to get a younger member to comment on that -
those events are usually past my bedtime...

HEY - can I get a copy of that tape?
I'll need it to go with the VCR's I'm going to borrow...
