Glad you agree with me, I have also tried the Cohiba Esplendidos but found it a bit too much, not a beginners cigar. I have also smoked them on cruise ships around the Caribbean

maybe a silly question... (i don't know the anwser because i don't smoke ..ASTMA)

When smoking a cigar.. do you inhale like cigarette smokers do..
or do you taste the smoke in you mouth (not in your lungs?)

Actually, I don't smoke them in the house. Only out on the back porch or deck. And I haven't had one in quite a while. It's one of those things that you have to be in the mood for. Sit down with a nice drink and relax.

Yep. I do the same. Usually me too are use to smoke my cigar outside home.
Only when night come, and I stay at PC reading and writing for PL, I smoke my cigar inside my room (my "hideout" as my wife call my studio-room...) but, before to light on my cigar, I open wide window 'till the morning comes.......
We all know about risk of passive smoke...

@ Adam *Buffo*: Mate.... do you remember the old times when smoking cigars on the deck of your submarine (or my ship) in the evening at the sunset...
Sea, peace, silence, sky.... you and your good cigar only.
    Nice times they was!

    No.
I only taste smoke in my mouth.
Usually you don't have to inhale cigar's smoke.
    But somebody do it.

I normally don't inhale. Just let the smoke linger in your mouth. Some people I know *do* inhale, but they also smoke cigarettes. Most people will turn green if they inhale a cigar though. (There's a lot more tobacco in a cigar than in a cigarette!)

Ahh, but remember Steve, I was on a ballistic missile submarine. We didn't spend any more time on the surface than we absolutely had to. Also, back then I didn't know very much about cigars. If someone handed me one, I'd smoke it, but otherwise I didn't buy them for myself.

I got introduced to quality cigars through a friend of mine here in Charleston about 15 years ago. (long after I got out of the Navy.) Got a humidor for Christmas about 10 years ago, and last year I discovered JR cigars in North Carolina. So now I can buy a $12 cigar for 4 bucks!

Eh - just had a quick look in the humidor... I'm running low. Guess it's time to place an order!

Whoa, if you were to inhale a cigar, it would probably equate to a whole pack of cigarettes...

I have asthma as well, but it's drastically subsided in the last 4 years... since I've started smoking strangely enough!

Oh I agree. I don't care for anything I've tried there. I get the cheap imports in bulk (25 or more) from say the Dominican republic or the Philippines. I've had a $7 one once or twice, and I suppose it's better, but certainly not 7 times better than my other sources.

For all you cigar enthusiasts, take a look at this website. It's James Barber's based in Otley, Yorkshire, UK. He has quite a few famous customers, the only one that comes to mind at the moment is Sir James Saville.

    http://www.smoke.co.uk/

They have a pretty big walk in humidor in the shop and supply their wares worldwide. It's nice to go into the shop as it has a lovely sweet tobacco smell. I don't somke myself but I like the smell of a good cigar

I remember my grandad used to smoke thick twist in his pipe, this is one of the few places where i've ever seen it on sale.

    Cheers
