There are a couple of other 'modules' planned to be added and once its developed it will be redesigned on the same PCB size (aprox 170x60mm - certainly no bigger) in SMD

I`ll give it a shot. Are the connectors on the worng side?

Apart from it being the wrong answer you wouldnt win a prize for the correct answer once its been guessed and explained.

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

    Ouch! That's mean!

For me it took a lot of practice with real working stuff.

    I'm still learning!

They are just upside down in the hole pattern.

    Great work Rob!

I developped a prototype board like that for my projector, with op-amp offset / gain and a switch to put all lasers to full power for warm-up (remotely controlled of course I can only switch lasers full on if the shutter is closed, for security purpose...).

Do you added the sallen key filter in your project?
Oh, and don't forget to add a separate connector for each laser modulation input, that's very practical when you want to remove a laser from the projector

Great idea and certainly a very useful addition.

Yes basically what this board has is the sallen key and all the interlock circuitry inc a timer for laser start. Currently this has got a single blanking connector as it is designed to be incorporated into a projector with laser-wave sources that have connectors on the driver. However it will be a good idea to have separates when complete so I am not limiting who can use it. Also US FDA will be considered too so it will help get a variance rather than hinder!

    Smile

Fred probably posted that before he noticed that there were several pages of replies. I'm guessing that after he posted that he didn't read the rest of the thread. He'll catch it the next time he logs in though.

It's one of the quirks of the fourm. Once you reply the thread is marked as all read, even if there are more pages of posts you haven't read yet.
