    Default GM-20

    I need one for a shutter, or can someone point me in the right direction to where I can buy something like it, thanks

    The rotary solenoids work well as a shutter, apart from the noise. You can pad the opening and closing of the solenoid to keep it from being so noise.

    Regarding the STP-8, I still question whether they can be used as a safety shutter....

    David,

    As the STP-8's have no spring/torsion return on them, I wouldn't disagree...hence the rotary solenoid mention. I may use one initially, but I'm not sure if the STP-8's will pass muster for a variance though.

    i can get used or new GM20s and 120s. i will get pricing asap. its cheaper than retail!

    and like your interlock switch for your lid make sure you get the right ones..or back to the drawing board!
