    Default First scanner attempt :)

Just received my 100mw laserwave 532nm and scanpro20 from David. I'm hopefully sourcing a plate of aluminum from Laser Ben, but I couldn't wait to see it in action so I mocked up the setup on a small piece of 3/4" mdf. I'm definitely hooked!

Here's a video of it I posted on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=640264003673

Excuse the poor audio quality, my camera isn't the greatest at times. Who wants to send me a 473nm now?

Looks guys, another baser! We're gonna need a "LA" here soon. Kiss the extra change and credit card balance good-bye... Just remeber to search attenuation map before you scar that camera. Welcome to the forum! You don't have a girlfriend do you? They don't usually mesh well with the laser habit.

What else are you running besides the Scanpro 20's and 100mw LW?

For now just the player board that came with the scanpro's, it was very much an impulse buy just before the holidays. I'd like to do a bit more research on my DAC/software options, but I'll definitely be picking one up very soon.

It'd be great to end up with an FB3 or better, but I think for now I'll go for one of the cheaper DAC/software setups.

Hah girls and hobbies never seem to mix well! Too tragic. My ex complained about that for awhile; all she did was watch TV!

    So does mine

I gave her a private laser show last night. Unfortunately my apartment is too small for the projector I have so the scatter from the target zone blows out the beam effects! She said she liked it more that way, though, so I guess it's okay 8)

    Cool

You are a fortunate woman indeed, Heroic. Few members here have a partner that shares their passion for lasers. Most of the time they simply put up with it, much as they might with any other hobby...

In 2007 I think we only had 1 spouse at SELEM. Last year we didn't have any. And that's out of 20 + members attending... That pretty much tells the story.
