    Default PC HDD shutter

I’ve searched PL for references to the following. Couldn’t find any. Has anyone seen this before? http://optics.ph.unimelb.edu.au/atomopt/shutter/shutter.html
Modifying an old P.C hard drive voice coil actuator for use as a TTL triggered high speed shutter.
I’m not sure of the specs for the GM-20 (25m/s?) but for the HDD voice coil, the total close time appears to be less than 20 ms.

    I've seen that one somewhere
The problem is that the GM20 is spring loaded, so the hold current will have to be larger that with this device
