Default building an projector? need an optical Breadboard?

Looking for a breadboard? A guy just called me he could deliver me 50 plates of aluminium with a thickness of 8mm and 50 plates of 10mm.
both sizes 470 mm by 400mm Perfect for a optical breadboard.

if you also order the axxatronic case you will see that their montageplatte exactly the same size is:

    http://www.axxatronic.de/downloads/g...e_europack.pdf

they are brand new and the more people are want to have it the better the chances are that i will buy them. so in a nutshell i need 99 people that
are willing to pay 35 euro,s for a slate of aluminium for a price of 35 euro,s.

i can help everyone to get a good breadboard incl myself if al you guys
    help me here

    Hi

Are the plates laser cut (or similar) and NOT guillotined? I made the mistake of buying guillotined material for my first projector's mounting plate and i'm sure that it has thermal instabilities caused by the guillotining.

Have you checked how you will fit the plates into the enclosure? I have a similar enclosure and ended up having to have the plate edges milled down so they would slide nicely into the enclosure from the back.

Do you have a price on the enclosures?

What would carriage costs to the UK be for a couple of base plates, and a 3u enclosure with blank front and back plates?

Sorry for all the questions, but I may be interested depending on the answers to the above questions.

    Thanks

    Jem

    dear jem

price is roughly around 135 euro for a 3he housing. 400mm in debt and 19" wide. i.m gonna order it within a few weeks. i dont know if its laser cut.
i have to ask the guy
i can by them and then bring the rest for scrapmetal but thats a waste i think and i loose a lot of money just for one plate that i need for my self
for 5 plates the weight is 27kg. the shipment would be arrond 30 euro,s

I don't think the method of cutting it would effect it too much. I know there is a different between plate that is cast and plate that is rolled. The cast plate is much more stable, but has a horrible finish when machining.

That is a LOT of alum.

the 8mm weighs 8.95 lbs each
the 10mm weighs 11.9 lbs each

    that works out to
    447 lbs for the 8mm
    595 lbs for the 10mm

for a total of 1042 lbs total or 472.6 Kilos

Alum usually goes for about $3 per lb here new. Right now the scrap value is about $.60 per lb in the us. Alum pricing has come way down lately.

The price sounds high especially for that amount.

Guillotining thick bits tends to bow the aluminum.. We found out the hard way..
