Default HP 2133 Mini Notebook PC

    Hi all

Just had the usual offer email from Misco and this caught my eye...

    http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...p?EdpNo=323260

It's a HP 2133 Mini Notebook PC. I've been fancying one of these for a while now and i'm just glad I didn't buy one, it's been reduced by over £100 to £190 + V.A.T. (add £9 for next day delivery).

These little machines are really well built and great to carry around. Even better is the fact it comes with an XP Pro downgrade

Not a bad price for a great little machine, ideal as a backup system

    "....with a large 8.9-inch WSVGA display ...."
    That made oi larf !!

I need a 40" LCD to see the display on my compootah these days.
I guess I could buy two and cobble 'em together on a frame to wear as glasses.

Honestly, what is the attraction with tiny screens these days?
Or is it just me getting old?

Hey Jem, bring us a pair of Mr Magoo specs to the next meet please.

Hey, don't knock 'em... Those small screens are great for my line of business

I really like a small notebook if i'm travelling as they don't take up much space and don't weigh much, yet they have almost the full functionality of their bigger brothers. Add a USB mobile broadband key and it's all systems go... Plus it means I can log into PL wherever I happen to be

I used a pocket PC for a while but they're just too limited.

Luckily it only lasted half an hour but it shows how tenous our link with survival is.

Isn't it a bit heavy considering its size? Did they replace the lithium batteries with lead-acid? It weighs nearly as much as my Thinkpad X61s (1.4 kg) with a 12" screen (it's a perfect screen size for a laptop, though I like the new X200 better).
