Default Warmup time for Laserwave DPSS-lasers?

    Hi,

I have just received a 50mW 473 and a 200mW 532 from Laserwave, I have just briefly tested them, that blue is a beautiful colour!
Anyway, how long do they need to be turned on to produce optimum output?
Both Bridge and Rob are on vacation so i'm asking here instead since a lot of people have LW lasers.
The 473 seems to vary very much in output for about 10 minutes.

They were very cold when I tried them, I had picked them up at the post office and walked home in the swedish winter... (-1C)
I will try tomorrow when they are at room temperature.

When Rob received one of my LW greens it was also cold and tuck about 10 Min's before it was anywhere near optimum power. He was a bit worried when he first switch it on. They come up to power much faster at room temp.

I warm my lasers up each time I turn them on if they have been off long enough to fully cool. In Pangolin there is the abstract generator that when tunred to white and on the high power palette, is using all the lasers at full. I leave that on for 10 or so minutes and they all seem to be "ready".

DPSS blue lasers are often more sensitive to temperature changes - especially cold temperatures. I've had my 100 mw Lasever Blue drop to around 40 mw when it gets too cold. But as soon as I turned off the projector case fans (which were drawing in ice-cold air from outside), the power jumped right back up.

I tested my Green 200mW today and after 15 minutes of warmup it delivered around 260mW!
I measured with a Coherent thermal head and the modified amplifier that came with it. I need to check the calibration of the meter against a known source or another meter but it seems accurate when I test different lasers.
