    Default DEAD HGM STUFF, Accepted.

I have a friend who is a factory trained on HGM medical. If you have dead HGM stuff laying around, ie it has a dead tube, My friend can reuse the cases and some of the boards and return them to medical use legally. If you'd like to see your parts go back to helping people, please let me Know.

If you want to know why I'm asking, ever wonder where I get access to all these schematics, optics, tube voltage readings etc, my pal works on everything from Coherent to HGm to Lexel, excimer, yag, ion, alexandrite. etc.

So I'd like to help him out, because he has helped a lot of us.

I can keep an eye out locally, there is a ton of medical stuff. Do you know of any use for the LaserScope fiber tips? I can get you hundreds for really cheap.

Mine is sitting here just looking sad and lonely. Truthfully I'd really like to buy a tube for it (still on the market if anyone has one!!!) but I also hate to see it just sit. If I cant find a tube soon I'll get a hold of ya

nO, YOUR gonna keep that PSU, it can light most smallframes. Its the power on demand HGM pulsed argon/krypton stuff that is useless for laser shows that I'm looking for.l

He is 1. very busy, 2. Too busy raising his daughter,, 3. Likes a very low profile. 4. hates email and TV. There are no active TVs in the house, and the family is banned from watching youtube, 5. Kinda quiet. 6. Always on the road, absolute road warrier, and thus can be hard to get ahold of.
If I want to sell a tube for him, I have to drive to St Louis to test it myself. That busy. He'll pass by here, pick me up, we'll drive to 4 or 5 states, he'll do 3-4 repairs or installs and drop me off 2 days later, on his way back home.

He does has a soft spot for scientists who need laser parts. On the other hand, if I call him up and need to know how to bypass a medical interlock or to get a optic or something, he bends over backwards to get me the data or the part.

He would show up for about a hour at SELEM or FLEM if he was near by, buy everyone a beer, then head off for the next repair. He has x29 and a whitelight, but he'd rather invite me to a party to set it up then run it himself.

    Yes, sir!

I just hate to see it sit. I guess I need to find a nice small frame that I can run with it. I dont even mind if it's water cooled... Just need to put this thing to work!!

    Cool

Gus, keep that HGM5. The PSU is robust as hell, and will run a Lexel 85 / 88 just as well as a 68B. Trust me, you'll find a tube for it one day.

Also, don't forget that you've got a built-in thermal power meter right on the front of that thing. It's good for at least 5 watts - maybe more. So that's another reason to keep it.

Steve: You can let Bruce know that I've got a an HGM - K1 krypton unit here with a dead pump (Grundfos unit) and a tube that is up to air. Not sure what he can salvage from it (radiator and electronics maybe), but he's welcome to it.

I have a working HGM-5 that I would love to get rid of. I'll need to power it up again to check it out, but it was doing around 400mw at 15 amps (a reasonably safe level for a few minutes I was told) last time I powered it on. I was going to use it for home laser light shows but now I am reducing in preparation for living aboard a sailboat and can't really fit a 100lb argon onboard

It has been modified to run CW, but I still have the orginal computer control boards.

Skyko, you need to sell that model 5 to me. Seriously... I'll take it off your hands. I have a complete unit in really good shape with a busted brewster stem. I could really put your unit to good work
