Agree that this show is very cool, but is nothing compared with the graphics you can create by a video projector.
    ... and with less effort.

i dont agree. when i do beam shows people are not always amazed because many clubs have beam shows but when i do graphics shows people sit and stare at it in amazement and look around the room to see where its coming from. i actually prefer beam shows but from what iv seen people who dont know alot about lasers (most of our audiance) prefer graphics shows.
saying that its not that they prefer it its probably more likely that they have only seen club lasers who usually do beam shows and have never seen one doing graphics

I like to do a combination. My shows generally use three (very bright) video projectors and an RGB laser; a combination of FP graphics and audience-faces-laser beams works well, because we have video projected on surfaces in all sorts of places and our audience is not all facing the same way.

We sometimes use scrims as well, both for video and for the laser. Sometimes the venue can get very confusing indeed, with every available surface pulsating with realtime-generated video and live laser overhead

Sorry, but there is no way a graphic show can compete with this.

I bet there are at least a couple of holes in the theatre's ceiling now

    Default fair point

    very true

it depends on the scale of the performance being done though. i love both and will always use both as it makes a bit of variety.

It might work, technically. You can make your curtains electric, so why not your scrim?
I was thinking of how to do this earlier today. Anyone been there done that?

We have this triangular prism of scrims which can be mounted on a mirrorball motor...

It's *really* hard to photograph :-( I don't have any that do it justice.
