    Default SSY-1 assembly

SOOO a friend of mine let me borrow his SSY-1 head and other bits tonight to see if I could get it lasing. I have the SSY-1 head, complete with working q-switch, the PFN, as well as the trigger transformer board. I'm pretty sure that this is everything I need to get the laser working, right? I'm just not sure which wires go where, and how much power do I need to apply to get everything charging, and how do I trigger it? I've looked around for info but all I could find was people using the PFN and their own home made transformer/psu setup, not the actual transformer board made to use with it. While reading these, people mentioned how they need a 900v supply... will I need an additional high voltage supply or is this covered by the trigger transformer board and PFN?

    Anyone help me out here?

Yes, you will need the charging transformer.
I suggest you remove the trigger transformer and trigger cap from the original board and build the trigger circuit seen in this schematic.

Also, their is a high voltage relay on the PFN that needs to be powered to open the capacitor discharge. You can optionally just remove the relay. It's a safety thing.

Here's a simple SSY-1 page with a video as well.

Has anyone else noticed a mode in the beam? TEM02?
