    HA! that's crazy!

    I have a similar story.

We had mice in the house I previously lived in. We are not filthy or anything but the house was built in 1894 and had a few holes for the critters to sneak in. Anyway, for a couple of weeks, we found the dog's food bowl (on the first floor) completely empty every morning. We eventually trapped the little bastards stealing the food. About 2 months later I took out my ruby laser that was on the second floor, in a closet, about 6 feet up and on a shelf. I heard this weird sound coming from inside while moving it. Turns out the whole thing was packed solid with dog food!! Lucky the optics were not contaminated. I give the little guys credit for going through all that trouble to store their stolen goods.

I used to fix TVs and the most common satellite TV outages were caused by spiders setting up home in the LNB feedhorn. The plastic cover gets old and slack and falls off, the spiders have a nice life until the Sun crosses behind the satellite, at which point the concentrated heat reflected by the dish frazzles 'em.

Then a second spider family move in and the cycle repeats. Eventually the feedhorn is so full of carbonized spider crap that the signal falls off the digital cliff and the picture goes away. :-)
