Default Anyone know how this is done?

Just wondering if anyone knows how this is done.

Its a liquid sky effect I saw in a photo over at the laser pointer forums. I know its a collection of laser pointers rather than a projector reflected off a medium, but what's interesting and so beautiful is the way the liquid sky effect has all mixed colours rather than defined banding:

I'll have a guess and suggest that the image is made up of three scanned lines. Red at the top, green in the middle and blue at the bottom (maybe red at the bottom, but it doesn't really matter). The bands are set fairly close together.

If you release a small amount of fog into the beams each colour line highlights the swirl of fog being intersected (if that makes sense ).

I've done this at home and it looks very similar to your photo

    Cheers

Tch, Tch, Are you suggesting my laser's not properly aligned

I much preferred my more technically sounding explaination

So basically from what Jem's saying you can project a liquid sky as 3 close monochrome layers one on top of the other and the effect of the smoke swirling between them will produce the mixed colour effect.

i did something similar with pointers. aimed 3 differnet colours at a spinning mirror and got roughly the same effect.
