Default Damnit. How did I manage that?

Baaah. I just killed my first 405 diode with careless handling.

I only had it working for one night too!

ESD?.....pesky thing.....next time try using a small pin or a stiff wire to short between all 3 pins at once.....leave in place until the driver is soldered up. This will also help drain a cap if it is on the circuit. I usually have a shorting wire attached with the diode leads....then clip and cap off with heat shrink when all is connected. My.02

with the 405's if a fly comes by creating static off the hairs of his back it blows the diode, BTDT MANY times, sensitive little bugers aint they

Well I was workign on it on my ESD-safe workbench here in the lab at work. I handle ESD-sensitive parts all day, and have never had a problem like this before. Now I guess I'm in the market for another 405 diode.

Dare I say it.. can't wait for a lazorb to solder on it for the rest of its life. Till then yeah I use shorting bars all the time.
