This is all done with ZoofBrew

Similar to the tesseract that you may remember, this is a 4D shape rotating about its 4D axis creating nice animations in 3D/2D.

It seems a nice and novel way to make laser abstracts.

The free 'LaserWave' software makes these abstracts and exports to wav, so then laserboy program must be used to convert the wav to ilda.

I doubt they use 4D graphics. Do you have a link to the software? The name is too generic for a quick search.

the interface is a bit awkward but once you get it displaying and cycle through the tons of presets it's pretty cool. He uses multiple 3-d cyclic generators with morphing constants. I don't know what the requirements of calling something '4d graphics' is but some of the results look a lot like that youtube video. I agree it needs a new name..

    Ah, thanks.
As for the 4D requirement, that is just theoretical. In the end it is all just math.

In the end, it's all just a projection of an object with more than three dimensions down to two or three dimensions. There are videos of 3d-projections of "hypercubes" (that would be a 4-dimensional equivalent to the 3d object "cube") on youtube, too. The rotation along four independent axis' creates amazing effects when projected down to 3 dimensions
Mathematically, it's not that complicated, it just increases the amount of calculations and data. Just like so often, the most spectacular things are sort of a piece of cake
