There's a reason GP bikes don't have more power than they do- they are limited by the amount of grip available. More power just increases the probability that you're going to break traction.
Actually, they are still in an outright horsepower race, its just that they focus more on tractability of the power than lumpy delivery (like the old 500 2 strokes - Honda beasts in particular!). Look at Honda last year with the release of their pneumatic valve motor, it was done to raise the rev ceiling, providing higher outright horsepower but with a more linear spread with it. Thats where big bang motors (and the variety of variations on the theme) came in.... Latest YZF-R1 now incorporating the same.

If they weren't searching for outright horsepower still they wouldn't be needing to rebuild/replace motors each meeting as they are now (although new rules set to change that mid season)

Looks like MotoGP could be in the balance anyway with so many teams looking at budgets given the state of the economy. Shame to see it go as a development class but for the manufacturers World Superbikes has much more commercial benefits and the fans are appreciating it more because of the bigger fields and closer racing.... even Rossi has commented on a move... now that would be something else! I say lets get all the best in the world racing each other, rather than spread over 2 premier classes.

    That bike has been stolen.

He has (Patrick Furstenhoff aka Ghostrider) since been building a 620ish Hp turbo busa.

The 'old' 500hp one did 0-300kmh in 9 seconds with fairings on. It always makes me laugh being a biker seeing sports car stats for acceleration.. they get absolutely raped most of the time.
He has the world wheelie speed record... used to be 320kmh now something like 340kmh. My best is about 250-260 ;D hehehe.

I find it funny that most people in cars don't even realize my bike will smoke em from a light.

I'd become a long stain with 150hp, screw 500+... that's like rocket fuel to a baser...

Well, I just heard from a colleague that that guy in the vid is no longer among the living.... Don't know the details but lets just say that I hope he didn't take anyone else along with him.

I donīt think he is dead, I heard that he and his team are releasing a new video soon. It is quite an industry i Sweden making illegal car and bike movies it seems, we have the "Getaway Stockholm" series and the Ghostrider series! Some are real and some are fake and lots of rumors are always spread to make it sell more all over the world!
