I'm not sure where specs could be found for the GM-20, but they are great for shutters and beam tables.

Marc, will you also be selling flags and mounts?

    Cool

At the GSI site, open loop galvo spec sheet covers GM20s and 734s

scroll down to G series open loop, 2 pdfs:

electrically it acts like a 8 ohm speaker only at 7 ohms.

sizes i dont have. you can look HERE to get a representation. these scanners/actuators go WAAAAAY back! i cant find a spec sheet on them. DSLi john prob has specs on them.
    here is the pinouts though-

hey dave. yes, these are PERFECT for shutters and beam table actuators. i wont be "stocking" the arms and flags. i think i will get a few of each. solid flags and low mass flags (holes in them) used for shutters. once i sell off of those, that would probably be it. i know OSLS sells the arms and the amps for the GM20's

they are simple linear approx 6/7V DC-12VDC actuators. more voltage you apply the faster they react. lower voltage inputs are used as slower "fade in" type actuators for beam tables." 12V inputs are used for beam steering and/or shutters. specific questions in mind?

they work best with a properly built amp with gain, offset & signal dampining to prevent ringing.

It does help to have a gain circuit, though and offset circuit I rarely use with GM-20's. I always get a bit concerned that the offset could get set rather high for normal operation and cause a premature failure. For damping I just wrap a cap on it to reduce the ringing. A good circuit for a GM-20 is rather easy to make, another reason these things are great to have around.

    end quote.

DZ uses a cap, I end up using 20-30 ohms of resistance across the series coils. either way works. usually a tip41 transistor on a heatsink, a 470 ohm resistor in the base, and a 1n4004 resistor to kill back emf works as a ttl driven driver for a gm20 series.
