    Default USB2DMX Anyone Used Them?

Has anyone used USB2DMX before? I need a cheap USB DMX controller that will just be controlling a single colour laser. It will be mainly used for the one laser but will eventually be used for more units linked together.

USB2DMX seams to be the cheapest and it works with freestyler (even though I cant actually find it on the list of controllers when you first start the program)

It's only just over £50 but it is really any good? My second option is the enttec but thats around £100.

    None?

Im reading mixed reviews about it, some people say it don't work at all, some say it works but theres a huge delay in response and some are saying it works perfect...

Plus how do you make that work with the USB? Solder what wires to the oposite end of what part?

Edit: Where do I buy it? I thought it was a kit but theres no place to buy it unless I want to buy all parts seperatly one by one.

I use an interface from dmx4all:

Looks like this one is just as cheap as mine I haven't got any issues, not disturbin delays.. except from the delay that is inherent to DMX.
It works with software like freestyler and who knows what..

It looks similar to the one I was looking at, just a bit more expensive.

Unless I can figure out about this kit that was posted above I will probally go for the USB2DMX... Despite no one seams to have one

They are not that good from what people have told me and from what people have reported on the FreeStyler Support forum.
You might find that it is just perfrct for what you want and need.

The Enttec Open USB DMX interface is about as cheap (about £50 not £100) and as good as you can get, but even that can have problems every now and then, usually people pushing it hard and using a cheap (slow) laptop. As they say "You pays your money.........".

    Default re

i use a velleman dmx convertor and it works perfectly. it will work with magic Q light software and freestyler and i have never had any problems with it.

it works perfectly. iv always thought the dmx to usb wires looked a bit suspect due to this one needing a circuit board in and those just being a wire

    anyway id recommend this

i didnt get it from here. i bought the kit for about £30 from maplin and soldered it all together myself

Yeah, I forgot about the Vellerman. It was the first USB DMX interface I had and I built it as well.

You can get them pre-built but not sure of the price.
