Default High Power Green - Best Beam Specs?

    Hi all

We'll as the title really... Following the UKLEM and a nice conversation with Francesco about quality lasers. I would like to get other individual opinions on which manufacturer has the best beam specs for high power (1watt to 3watt range) DPSS green lasers.

Low divergence is what i'm after, also maximum beam diameter of 2.5/3mm as the beam has to fit nicely onto a set ct6215 scanner mirrors.

Reliability is also an important factor.

    Thanks

    Jem

    Tell me about it

It was more the crystalisation of an idea that has been brewing for quite some time.

I've got a 1W Viasho 532nm that is very nice...

    Beam Quality (M2 factor) <1.2

Beam Divergence (full angle, mrad) 1.2-2.0

Beam Diameter at aperture (mm) 2.0-3.0

    Beam roundness >90%

    hey jem-

as unbiased as i possibly can be...i would HONESTLY have to say LaserWave. and i would say that even without being their distributor.

i have used viashos, Melles, CNI in the past. they all had positives in their own rights. none were "bad" in all honesty. what impresses me the most with laserwaves is the linearity of the modulation. it BY FAR has the best modulation response compared to other manufacturers. beam qualities are damn near perfect. <1.2mrad also.

laserwave actually has the aperture diameter at 3mm. i measured one at just about 2mm. (actually it was stukas here. he has a 1W laserwave).

i had his bench testing and burning in next to my melles and it BLEW the melles out of the water. (and the melles cost me about 10X the amount!!! )

i really think you would be the most impressed with a LW green. not to mention they are almost ALWAYS outputting WELLLLL over 1W!!!

    full specs HERE.

We are pretty happy with the Laser-wave 1w's we have here.. Should probably be getting a few more shortly

However, if money isn't a factor, Lightline OPSL look mighty nice And they arnt as much as one may expect

    Hi jem,

Because there is nothing between Viashos, CNIs, Laserwaves (+others) and Coherent we decided to start manufacturing our own greens. Working on the development very hard it should not take that long to see first GOOD and "cheap" greens.

    Thanks guys

    Keep the information coming

I've just been looking at one of these

    http://www.laserquantum.com/lasers/excel.html

Don't have a price yet though... I guess it could be frightening

Dave, i'll have a look at those Lightline OPSL's but I fear they may be in the same territory as the Laser Quantum pricewise

Thanks again for all your help and advice.

    Cheers

    Jem
