Thumbs up LanLing 200mW 650nm Review

    LanLing 200mW 650nm Review

    Output Power: 200 mW
    Stability >90%
    Wavelength: 650 nm +/- 5nm
    Spot Mode TEM00
    Operating Voltage 5v DC
    Operating Current 320 mA
Storage Temp -40 degree to 80 degree Celsius
    Case Material Aluminium
    Beam Divergence < 1.2 mrad
Beam Diameter at Aperture 4.5-5.0 mm
    Life: About 10000 hrs
    Operating temp: 10-50 degrees C
    Warm up time: <10 ms

    First impressions. (Laserhead)

    1. It’s easy to mount.
    2. it’s not to big but provides more then enough cooling for the diode
    3. And it’s easy to replace the diode’s in case it ever dies
    4. There are 2 diodes in the case and one pbs cube
Beam specs seem to be around 1,2 mrad
And the beam diameter is 4.5 - 5 mm
Beam quality is great no distortions or reflections. :

The focus of this module can not be changed.
This is because both diodes are mounted very close to the pbs cube.
So u cant reach the focus adjust ring
but this should not be needed normaly

And there are more than enough mounting holes on the bottom side of the laser head.

First impressions. (Driver) or in this case drivers since it has 2 of them

This driver was designed very wel.
    The output is rock solid.
Ive not been able to find any spikes in its output even during blanking.
The current for these specific diode’s was set at 180 mA. Per diode.
The blanking input can handle up to 20khz. Ttl only
This should be more than enough for most applications.
    Now for the output power
All power readings where done using a coherent lasercheck set to 655nm

The module is rated for 200 mw 650 - 655 nm
My first measurement just after power on peaked at 222 mw.

After 15 minutes I took a other measurement this one came in at 210 mw
After 1 hour I took a other measurement at this point the module was about 23 degrees.
And was stil doing 212 mw
Also this module it not tec cooled the housing provides more then enough cooling for the two diodes..
Overall this module seems to perform very well.
Its output is stable and free of distortions and reflections
The driver is small and works perfectly.
Shipping to Europe took about 4 days
So overall I would recommend this module to anyone
Who wants to build a laser projector on a budget.
I’m not sure if this module is available in a higher power version
But im pretty sure its easy to replace the diodes with 2x 200 mw giving about 350 mw total
    Hope this review was helpful

Thanks for the great review- would you happen to have any pics of the inside of the head? I am curious to see what's under the hood. If you don't have any pics, I was wondering if this type of arrangement has any adjustments that can be made to the cube, or is it just glued in place or something like that?
    Thanks, Mike

    Smile lanling quality

very nice laser module lanling products are very good quality but the best feature of lanling is customer care and after sales support which is very important i have bought the animation 100mw green laser and the 350mw red laser module both top quality!! the only thing is that the laser modules that lanling sells have only ttl and not analogue modulation for a reason which is a pity really but overall their products are the best. the module above looks very tidy and nice great review! what is the price for one of those?
