Default WTB: parts for first projector

    Hi all,

After last week’s UKLEM I am already suffering withdrawal symptoms and want to get started on my first projector project. I am looking to make a green 100-200mw with analogue modulation, 20-30k scanning and at least dmx control (if anyone has a cheap DAC going due to an upgrade).

My budget is very limited but have been putting this off for over a year now and can’t wait any longer.

    Thanks in advance,

    Adrian

Thanks for the offers, but I think the cambridge scanners are out of me price range for some time.

I would love to go with 30K scanners but have been told by many people that the DT25s are very good for the price. Done want to go as low as 20K if I can help it.

Quazar, PM sent about the the case.

Indeed the DT-25's are a very nice set of scanners. I'm thinking about buying a set myself. Chinese scanners matched with a German amp. Being in the UK, you'll want to get with Stanwax for the hook up.

+1, the DT25's absolutely rock! Rock solid, great tuning, and very reasonable price! They can be pushed to 30K even, but at small scan angles if you'd like, but they are great @ 25K

You could probably find a surplus computer case for free If you keep your eyes open ( Tower or rackmount ) to fit all your components. I'll bet there's a computer recycler or scrapyard nearby that has one waiting for you.

    Good luck

I have so many old PC cases under my stairs, kept telling the other half I needed to keep them for something. Never thought of gutting them to use as a projector case though, just need a good baseplate to go in one.
