    AVRs were designed to run code from C compilers very efficiently. It was one of the design goals.

    Mike ... yep. I have been lurking around reading posts for a bit. Microcontrollers are one of my interests. I have thought about getting the BASCOM AVR for a while. Just checking to see if it is worth it.

    A little quirky once you have it , but well documented.

    Then again what compiler is not quirky....

    Ask me in a week when I get done playing with the counter/timer.

    I could have gotten the display functions I needed with paulmon on a 8051, but the client agreed to pay for the bascom. Bascom's price has been rising steadly....
