If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

If you have £10K to play with, I would seriously consider looking at the offerings from Kvant. "Pelosh" is their UK rep.

I have a question for everyone on here.. Everyone knows that Laserworld uses cheap parts and grossly overstate their power ratings, but they are dirt cheap compared to other projectors. Do you think that they are a rip-off? I mean, even if their power rating is 1/3 of what they advertise, they still seem to be cheaply priced.

Edit: I skipped over some posts and just read about how the red is dying out after a few hours. EEKS.

    Cool

LaserWorld projectors are a rip off even if they were advertised as being low power units from the start. The laser quality is horrible, and most owners suffer catastrophic failures within the first year. The optics are non-adjustable and have massive losses, and the scanners just plain suck. That's why this thread has so many replies... LaserWorld projectors are trash any way you look at them.

About the only good thing about their projectors are the cases they use.

Question Hi guys, have had this response from laserworld when i questioned their integrity!

    Dear Ben,

    thanks for your honest reply.

I fully understand that you want to be absolute sure about what you are purchasing and I'm also aware that Laserworld as a market leader is strongly represented on the market and therefore, we have to face with negative feedback from time to time, too.

However, I feel that almost every of these information can be found in a few forums where mainly people publish comments who are only working with lasers as hobby or as part time work. Apart of that, we are frequently faced by competitors who try to harm our reputation. In both cases, it is very common to compare apples and oranges when talking about Laserworld products. On the other hand, there are a few professionals who really invest their time to leave good comments, but on one good comment, many bad ones follow just to keep the general impression up. We also often realize that people prefer to go in a forum to list all their problems instead of just getting in touch with us first and solve the problems. It's also contravene that especially these people buy nevertheless again and again although nobody forces them to buy products they complain about each time.

For us, all I can say is that our success proves us right. Even in these difficult times where the whole laser market is in a strong period of consolidation, Laserworld has a strong growth of still 50% (2008: 100%). We supply many well known companies all over the world, also many laser companies who are member in the ILDA and use our laser systems for their daily use and resell them worldwide. I enclose you a short list of customers during this year (soon published on the website). If you are interested, I can also offer to establish a contact with an English speaking customer who already has such a PL-4500RGB system.

We produce the diode modules of the Purelight Series together with Swisslas in Switzerland. These laser modules are of superior quality and equipped with the identical diodes from Optnext and Nichia like used by all other common manufacturers in this field, just like HB Laser, MediaLas or Arctos. The main price advantage comes from the volume of our sales as well as from the housings which we use to produce on our production line in China. That's where we can save a lot of money, too and forward this to the customer.

You can find the latest information here:
    http://www.laserworld.com/fileadmin/...alog-LW-en.pdf

We offer you 2 years warranty on the technical of the laser projector and 1 year on all laser sources! For the case, a laser would break in this period, we can either supply a replacement and you can exchange it or we can collect your laser system and we can confirm that for shipment, repair (done within 24h) and re-shipment to the UK, we would not need more than 5-6 working days. Based on the warranty of one year, a life time of 5000 hours should be no problem at all. We quote it even higher for these kind of diode modules to be at around 10000 hours.

Even when the laser is out of warranty, we can then still offer to replace diodes in a laser module once they break. It does not mean you will have to buy a complete new laser module. This keeps costs low.

In terms of the beam specs, we can guarantee the following specs for the PL-4500RGB:
max. 3mm x 3mm; below 1mrad. For the output power, it is measured and a digital report will be enclosed to your shipment.

I will ask my collegue Peter to supply latest product sheets and pictures for the diode modules used in the PL-4500RGB.

If you want you can also come to us in our headoffice in Germany. F.e. it is easy to fly to Stuttgart and we can collect you there. So, you can have a look at your PL-4500RGB system first and then decide if it is what you expected.

For any further questions, feel free to contact me or my collegues anytime!

Cool the 4.5 watt one they have offered at £10500

    Purelight Series RGB (1200-36000mW RGB)

The Purelight High End Laser projectors offer the latest, most innovative technology – the all-out solution for every professional application.
Due to their compact plug & play concept, the low consumption (230V/350 W) and the air conditioning, the Purelight systems are optimal for mobile applications.
The inserting of high precision Swiss made state-of-art laser modules possessing waves laying 640 nm red and 445 nm deep blue results in an extended color range with an excellent white luminosity. The inner easy to maintain sandwich-concept configuration is very rugged. The high speed deflection unit is either fitted with CTi scanners or optionally with LW-50 scanners which are known by the scanners of the Proline series.
The results are highest scanning speed as well as true-to-detail and high resolution characteristics on highest level!

Default Market growth does not imply quality

    By Sturgeon's law!

Market growth only implies that a majority of potential customers are unaware of your quality problems.
