Default help adding 405 to a proyector...

    I whant to add 405 to my projector, I currently have 532 100mW, 635 400mW and Im about to add 473 100mW.

I was thinking of using a single diode from an 8x blue ray (BDR-203BK 8x)
should be easier than trying to combine two diodes.

This is the list of what i think I need:

    -Die4driver
    -Axis mount
    -Glass lens.
    -Heat sink or mount??
    -Dichro.

Can someone tell me if Im missing something and a good place to get them.

This is my first attemp to bulding a laser from diodes so any advise is appreciated.

    Hi jmilan,
Check out the thread below from Rob (Stanwax)

He's just got in a diode housing with plastic lens (which i believe is more efficient than a glass lens) and driver board with analogue modulation. Ideal for DVDRW or Bluray diodes. Should cover your needs

Looks like you have a decent color balance going. You will need a power supply for the blu-ray driver and optic mounts. Here is how I added 405 to my projector:

and here is my dual blu-ray album:

    Default thanks RGbee and allthat

    I have some more questions.....

    Allthat
Does the mount need a heatsink ?
I see you have your diodes mounted in a heatsink, where did you get it?

    <<<QUOTE>>>
"I just mounted them on a 1/3 inch plastic "plate" and usually have a heatsink sitting on top of them while being careful not to touch anything metal to the heatsink... "

    what need to be insulated?

i dont whant to burn my diode....

That is for the reds; they do not need much cooling and their housings cannot be grounded due to the driver configuration and therfore I have to mount them on an isulator. I am using a different driver on the blu-rays that can have the housing grounded. I got my blu-rays from daedal who built them. I believe he has a few housings left like mine. They are the same as the Maxyzmodules heatsinks.

Default Laserman532 has nice heat syncs

You may want to look at xbolt or PM laserman532 on the board he sells some really nice heat-syncs for aixiz modules. Gottaluvlasers may also have a few of the 405nm dichros...

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
