Sometimes I get ones that last forever at 120mW, other times they die almost instantly at 120mW. 80-100mW is a pretty safe level

I set mine to 110ma (not mw) and get what I get power wise. You can keep turning up current but at what point do you stop? I noticed if you keep turning up the current past about 100ma the current starts to go up faster than the power. I want a safe current to run diodes as a labby not a pointer with a low duty cycle. Is 110ma max or should I go to 120ma or 140ma.?

110 is a good level, I try not to go any higher than 125mA.

I've done two at 110mW . But I didn't dare push them harder I have actually seen one that was accidently driven at 300mW at lived fairly long. But that was once, hardly ever see them over 100-110mW.
