Ok, so I got let down on the FXLAB Pulse 2 80mW red laser (I'm kind of glad that I did now ;-))
So I bought a Laserworld EL-150G as a trial laser (to get an idea of brightness, value for money etc before I spend out on a decent laser). I only paid £103.54 for it + £21 UPS shipping. I am pleased as punch with it ! (which is half what they retail at, so good value me thinks)
The build quality is great, really pleased with it there. The beam show looks good and is varied enough for me, without doing any weird patterns or annoying things. The projected patterns aren't much to look at, but I didn't expect much from stepper-motors...

It looks much brighter in real life, but do bear in mind that I shot this video during the day with the sun shining through my window (only got white curtains)
I will do a propper review when I have had the chance to fire it up at night.
