My next door neighbor said he and his dad have invented a device that starts off two car sized batteries and powers a device that spins an alternator fast enough to charge the two batteries with power to spare. Says they have made a prototype generator for camping that works very well. It was one of those over the fence conversations but I could not find fault in it and it sounds plausible enough.

I know it sucks, because we all want it soooooo bad. But I have to grasp and hold on to the vision of all those people standing in the field at kitty hawk shaking their heads back and forth, and look how far we (mankind) have evolved since that day. Without hope and dreams we might as well be just another cold blooded creature (i know we are warm blooded but I couldnt think of another good analogy)

What you (your neighbors dad) is stating is over unity. Unproven to date, and debunked by the entire scientific community. The only way to prove that it works is unplug the batteries, These devices eventually (and I mean quickly) all run down.

I was very interested but... I am not a neighborly person and could only say it was interesting but not "probable" given what I "know" and have been told, but would love to see it in action. The device used to turn the alternator seems the key and his explination "sounds" like it works. I actually told him I would love to test one for him, but have yet to have a knock on my door and a unit delivered.

And if you are thinking I am my neighbor; think again... I only have good ideas; I do not try to impliment them...

no, i never thought you were him. But beware if they want you to invest in the design, as a matter of fact the only thing ALL OF THESE TYPE OF DEVICES have in common is........THE LACK OF FUNDING

The Kitty Hawk story does provide us with a strong mental image, and it is a great symbol of what we can do with technology. Now I wasn't there, and I haven't read any historical accounts of the whole process, so the following is speculation: I think many probably said that powered flight/winged flight was beyond our technical ability for a variety of reasons - power to weight ratios of motors, building materials, etc. If you watch a bird or a mosquito or a bat it's pretty clear that things can fly. Life has a wonderful way of taking full advantage of physics to make a living. Chlorophyll is an amazing molecule. We have solar cells but designing a replica of chlorophyll or any large biological macromolecule exceeds our current capabilities in synthetic organic chemistry - and yet here they are.

There is alot left to do within the "established" framework of physics/science. I don't feel like we've run out of things to do. Superior catalysts made from inexepensive materials for water hydrolysis is a hot field right now, as are materials for ultracapacitors/electrochemical capacitors. It doesn't take magic/ unaccepted mumbojumbo to help hummanity, it takes a shit ton of hard work, and sometimes that work includes learning about the way the universe works and why we have "laws" of thermodynamics.

Maybe it seems all the low hanging fruit is gone inside that framework, and people try to look outside it with the assurance that no matter what at least they are thinking outside the box. I am genuinely interested in the whole thought process.

I think we need to call the aliens that gave us semiconductors and transistors to see if they'll let us reverse engineer their free energy machines

Just give us control over gravity and we will work the rest out...

Allthat & gooey this guy is interesting

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkgyY47duCM

he has been around forever, he claims free energy with this device (given to him by the Paladiens) but he is imparting energy into the device by movement of his hand. He is a very interesting individual with a very interesting background. He claims this device is the way UFO's travel. If you have an afternoon to kill sometime, research his story, history. he also claims he is connected to Billy (ufo alien medium) who has photographed and hung out with aliens. Which is all true...

I think of the message of - "those saying that it cant be done, should step aside and make room for those doing it" (or something along those lines)
