    Default SCan Angle

    im going crazy,

    scan angle, ?

    I have read on pango website and tried to figure it out, but im sry i cant.. Mathematic or things like that never been a good subject for me, and also presented in english.
    .

    Is there a simpler way to make sure i have the correct scan angle.?

    I have exactly 4meters to the projection surface from the scanners.

    Someone?

    I have read the "Buffo" tuturial 2times and getting the testpattern to look fairly ok, but it feels like im doing all this for no point as i dont know if my scanangle is 34 or 19 or 7? i have no clue.

    Take your distance, 4 meters, and the angle you want to scan at, 8 degrees, and fill in the equation and do the math. "To find the width W, knowing the scan angle A and the distance D"...

    W = D*tangent(A/2)*2

    D=4meters
    tangent of 8 degrees = 0.1405 [(100 : 14.0) ILDA 30K test pattern size]

    W(in meters) = 4m * 0.1405(8/2)*2

    Rob has a PDF guide somewhere on here. You just need to print it out on A3 and match it up to the test pattern.
    Have a search...

    If not it's a bit of trig:
    - Measure distance to screen (4m in your case) (L)
    - Measure width of large square on the test pattern (in meters) and divide by 2 (W)
    - On a calculator, do inverse sine of (W/L) and multiply by 2

    Edit: Allthat, I'm too slow! You beat me

    Just over half a meter in width... I think it was 0.559m...

    I can't believe I forgot about this man... Sorry!

    You would normally adjust the scan angle settings in Showtime or LD2000 if you're using a QM2000 board. When you start LivePRO the settings are transferred over.

    In LivePRO, if you go into 'Environment' / 'Projection Zones' you can set various parameters there

    You could perhaps use the 'Live Control' tab and select 'size', here you can adjust the x/y parameters. However, be VERY careful with doing this as these positions are NOT locked and certain cue selections can override these settings.

    If you're using an FB3, i'm sorry I don't know.

    It is amazing how small 8 degrees is... Especially at 134 inches from the projector... 19 inched wide has a tan of "0.1417910". I need a bigger cave to watch the projector in.
