Nope, she pulled that off in the first week, many more weeks to come. unless you mean that the competition is over in a metaphorical sence, then i'd probably have to agree, Scotland is going to vote for that woman.

Also, 'flawless' are really worth watching, as is 'stavros' (spelling?) the greek dancer...

Listen to the audio without the video and you'll see that this is a good amateur singer.
Nothing more.
All the hype is being whipped up by Simon Cowell to generate more money for his company.

The undisputable facts are that this woman has sung one song on a TV talent show and is now being hailed as the next big thing with mentions of appearing on Oprah and having a No. 1 album in the states.

And I sense the Scots are circling the wagons on this one ......

I agree that the show basically "leads" the audience (both the live audience and the TV viewers) to the conclusion that the producers want. The two idiots backstage telling you how to react ("Bet you didn't expect that, did you?") are really over the top. The show would have been much better without them.

Still, the woman does have a great voice. (What little of it you can hear over the cheering crowd and the cornball antics of the backstage pair) And while it was only one song, if she can sing that one really well, it's likely that she can sing other songs really well.

The main reason she's such a sensation right now is that we're all suckers for the rags-to-riches story. Many of us are awkward, socially inferior beings. So when someone that at first glance appears to be "one of us" can suddenly prove everyone wrong and perform so well, it gives us all hope and inspiration. (Come on - admit it: Who among us here hasn't dreamed of being on-stage in front of a crowd that is cheering?)

Personally, I thought she sung rather well, and if she lands a record deal, so much the better. After all, she's got a lot more talent that the Spice Girls, and those 5 airheads are still touring...

Ohh the cynics are out in force ...apprentley now it was all a masterplan to boost flagging theatre tickets sales of Les Mis following a trouncing by ABBA musical in london west end ..sheesh ... who knows , all I know is im grateful for some decent FAMILY entertainment amongst the sexual / blood and gore trash thats seesm to eminate on 90% of the airwaves 90% of the time .thank the lord for the BBC , yes it produces some trash ( and yes i know BGT is ITV )

However the BBC produces some outstanding decent watchable educational entertainment and is worth every penny of the very strange arrangement we have here in UK, were you need to pay circa £120? $200 per YEAR just to own a telly and turn it on ! ( You MUST OWN a television licence and if you dont they send out little vans to catch you LOL ) and all this public cash does result in the strange result of paying people £18 million pounds ( thats like 26.5 million US dollars ) to present a telly show !
