Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

Those t03 greens that chris has are the real deal. Made by boston laser, nice compact little units with tec built right in.

For the record, you heat the KTP and cool the pump diode AS NEEDED to control wavelength.

Heating the KTP increases electron and ion mobility and lets it self repair optical damage. It also stabilizes the crystal tuning against variations in room temperature.

A usual diagnostics check on big green is measure the adsorption in the ktp, by seeing how much the heater backs off in current when you turn the IR on.

    Cmon, get it right.
