Default Where do you find your new music (trance etc) ??

I know there are a lot of DJ type folk out there on this here site (lol) so I have a question to you all... Do you still shop at your local record store on old vinyl or do you now source your new tracks via places on line? If so what would you recommend?

youtube is one of the best sources for new music, even for the non-DJ

I usually search for music I like to finally get lost with 10 related windows opened from the right panel where you find related things

and I've found most of the new groups I like with that method

it works for black metal/dark ambiant, also for electro, darkwave, EBM, and the like so it should work with trance/techno

when the title is found, there's only a few steps to an online store which sells it

That's very true - an obvious one I had not thought of. You tube can be very surprising for discovering stuff you never would usually come across...

    www.alldj.org to get live sets
tranceaddict.com/forums to get the tracklist for live sets
    soulseek for most general tracks
dc++ for harder to get tracks
beatport.com for released tracks, especially if i want to rework the track since they have the option to download uncompressed wav files

    Default Pandora?

    New Music?

I was listening to my playlist the other day and I realized most of my music is almost 6-10 years old... I think the only new album I bought was the NIN after they started direct downloads for $5 (money directly to the artist not a record company). Pandora is also another good source for finding new music of your tastes...

I have also found many "new" (as never listened before, or freshly found) on torrent trackers, searching for collections and compilations

I currently have a 17Go torrent on its way, with at least 70% unknown groups...

Generally if I hear something that I like but don't own; I'll record a snippet, post it on a music site to have it ID'd, then search Discogs to buy a copy.
