Default ILDA Shutter, Pin13 output from my DAC's???

I have three DAC's - a Phoenix (Easylase), A Medilas MB DAC and a Moncha Lite DAC.

I don't get any 5v output (with reference to pin25) on pin13 (Shutter) on the 25 way ILDA socket from the Moncha or the MB DAC's? But I do get a constant 5V output from the EL as soon as power is connected to it.
According to a bit of research I did the DAC's are supposed to output 5v only when displaying frames?

I have just fitted a lovely shutter system to my 2W RGY and found I don't have a DAC that seems to operate it properly. Should these DAC's be outputting the 5v or on some DAC's is it not connected internally?

    Any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks

    Jim

    Speaking for the QM2000,

The shutter is only open(energised) when something is being displayed.

Bingo. And this is what the shutter is for. It gets opened whenever you're displaying something, and remains closed otherwise. Strange that those other controllers are not even trying to run the shutter. After all, it's in the ILDA standard, and they all claim to be ILDA-compatible.

I am waiting to see if anyone else has experienced this with these, or any other DAC's for that matter, and to see if my DAC's may well be faulty!

Pretty annoying really considering, as you say Adam, that they claim ILDA standard and just don't correctly meet the requirements.

I am going to wip my MB DAC to bits to see if the pin is indeed connected internally.

Dear across the pond cousin, our regulators over here prefer that the shutter be a manual thing on a keyswitch and a big red mushroom emergency stop switch. Would that ease your mind ? You are of course allowed to wire your new fangled computing device in series with the manual shutter switches if one of them supports the standard.

So the ILDA standard dosen't require Pin13 to be operational from a DAC?

Just took my MB DAC to bits and Pin13 isn't connected internally Cow Pat's!!

    Default dac ilda fail

    Yes, it does.

You could see if any of them open and close the 2 other ilda interlock pins, the ones that loop back, 4 and 17

Anybody know where to buy a "big red mushroom emergency stop switch"? I saw a photo of one (probably Steve's) on another thread somewhere.

Call John at ctr surplus in crestline Ohio

    www.ctrsurplus.com

They had a ton of them ripped out of medical systems. Some even in nice yellow and grey boxes with cable clamps and red lids.

Or is there enough demand for me to drive a hour each way and pick some up for a sale like I did the keyswitches?
