    Default A quick thankyou

    hiya all

i dont know if u all know me on here but some of u will and iv been around for a while now and hav wanted to say something for a bit now.

    here goes:

this is by far the BEST forum on the internet and its all because of the admins and the sound people that come on here. now this may sound a bit out of the blue but ill explain.

i have frequented a few other forums for the past few years and really like the idea of forums but every time i post a few posts and realise that the place is full of either stupid school kids who just want childish arguments all the time or people who think they are better than everone else.
im not going to mention any names but recently i posted a very similar thread on another forum to one i posted on here and got a totally different reaction, not only from the other people but also from the admins.

on PL i got alot of very good constructive comments about my lighting and of how i could improve it but on sed forum i got alot of hostility and people accusing me of trying to show off. when i decided to confront them about this i got a very rude message from the admin stating that like it or lump it and that i could get chucked off if i made any more comments of this nature.

i have now come to the conclusion that this is the only decent forum on the internet
the reason is that all i have ever had from anyone on here is help and advice and i just want to say thankyou to everone on here especially the admins.

also a special thanks to a few members as they have helped me far beyond what they needed to. one is franscesco (sorry if i spelt it wrong) who is uncleworm on here, soforene and marc or gottaluvlasers who has helped me out on many occasions and who i now consider a real friend even though he lives about 4000 miles away.

thanks for reading this and please everyone carry on making photonlexicon the best forum on the internet

    cheers ollie

Hey Ollie. Just to let you know, there is only one Admin here. Spec... All the rest of us are stupid school kids...

I whole heartedly agree; I have been on other forums that work the same way. The only difference that I see seems to be those forum are all making their respective admins money with ads and banners and who knows... I think our great benefactor put the donate button up to cover the costs of the forum and nothing else. I do not doubt there may be extra but not in the sense other forums get from advertising that would probably be an actual "profit" and enough to claim on their taxes. Without this forum I would still be playing with a tiny argon, tiny red diode, and greeny pointed at a butchered Laser FX.

A big thank you all the stupid school kids here that are here to help and have fun with the rest of us.
    Love, peace, and grease,

Good for you pal, I was mesmarised by the impact and colour of stage lighting from the age of 10 when I was taken to the theatre for the first time. You are either the type that is or the type that isn't drawn to this kind of thing.

Beats the shit out of blowing all your cash on beer any day.

I take it that the "other" forum was more for people in to burning things and lighting matches than drawn to the beauty of light?
