    Default plastic on case?

    im building a new case for a laser sytem, its going to be 1w 532, 1w 635 and some weak blue at the moment, my question is, if i use some kind of dark persplex or plastic on the sides of the case will it have any issues with static electricity etc....?

    iron doesn't exist in a pure form , it's always in an alloy form with carbon (and others) which is called steel

    static wont be an issue.

    be sure ALL grounds in your case come to a central location and then is in turn grounded to the case and to ILDA 25.

    Ground the frame, and most problems go away if you touch the grounded frame while you work on it. However if you dont ground yourself or wear a commecial anto stat strap (safer for you while working on it!) and its a dry winter day, you can zap diodes parts. That happens if you use all metal too.

    Soon lasorb will be here and the problem will go away.
