OK.

Welcome to the Official® comparison thread. I figured this may be helpful without having to buy lots of glass that doesn't work so well. So kind of like a review thread with where-to-get-it information.

SO.

If you sell lumina wheels, write them up here.
If you found the best (or worst) glass ever, write it up here.

I'll start off. Bought the sample kit shown in this post. As time allows (and i get the stuff cut and drilled) will edit this post to add all of the suitable ones.

I really like granite. I'm going to definitely get a piece of that. Any tips on cutting a circle and drilling a hole?

Right now, I'm using a square cut 2.5x2.5" piece. I really terrible at cutting glass, may try a circle later on today.

Drilling the hole is easy. I use a 1/4" spade type glass bit ( aval at most hardware stores-Lowes, HD, ect...) in a cordless drill. Sprinkle a few drop of water on the spot to drill then use slow speed and gentle pressure. Takes a little while, but is really simple.

I'm going to try doing at least 5-10 more tonight.

It is a 1/2 RPM, 120VAC, gear reduction appliance timer motor salvaged free from a local appliance store junk pile. Bolted onto a strip of 1x~5x1/8" aluminium. The shaft is firmly epoxied to a 1/4-20 threaded coupler with a nylon nut to hold the glass.

), you would probably wind up with several new BFF's...

I'm pretty sure i can get/make more; as long as I can get the right motors. It does take a bit of time harvesting them from the appliances. The rest of the materials are fairly inexpensive.

$20-25 bucks shipped USA. for complete units ready for mounting?????

Is that fair?

Anyone in?
