Every FB3 will work with LiveQuick, TraceIt and the LA-studio package (containing draw3d, abstraction and showrider, a tiny version of livepro)

All of them you can download here (under 'Software for Flashback 3 users'):

Sometimes a second hand FB3 is sold with a license file for LivePro. This will ofcourse be more expensive.

    Hi Paul,

I remembered that one of our fellow PL members has created a LivePRO training. I've looked at it briefely and it looks good. You can see the post here:

I'll have to link this in from our web site and the LivePRO help file. Maybe this will help.

300 Evil also helped to edit the many hours of video we made for this. Maybe this will go somewhere...

I have just finished beta testing software called Record for Propellerhead software. I'd be interested to test Quickshow. Be perfect actually as i'll be starting out from scratch having never used laser control software before. My new FB3 XE is in the post to me as we speak. I'll scout out your email and drop you a line. Saying that its probably not too far from release now anyway but still, sooner the better as i'm eager to get stuck in

I'm still mucking around in it and it's very impressive thus far! Going to be an awesome piece of software once it's finally released and works with the hardware. I believe I have found a small bug, but I'll email it directly

Will this mean that the new beyond platform will be totally different to control as ld2000 pro?

I mean is the control of the application that different that we LD2000 users will be "lost", and start a new (long) learning curve, or is there a recognizable base to start from.

    Best regards,

Maybe this will be something I can help with, if Bill/Pangolin are interested of course. I already did a Live Pro self paced training pack and I think most, if not all people that have bought a copy have been happy with it...

It is completely different. All philosophies are different. The way you create frames is different. The way you create a show is different. Even the way you perform shows live is different. This is brand new software built from the ground up, with zero ties to past philosophies (except in the rare cases when a tie makes sense).

Well that might depend on the user. We're actually taking a close look at the needs of users and really making a delineation in terms of what software we would recommend. If people want a software with little learning curve, then we would recommend QuickShow. Although it was highly rehersed, I was able to show all of QuickShow at the ILDA ATW in only 8 minutes. So... there can't be much learning curve to it, although once you get into it you find that QuickShow is actually pretty deep, and you can layer effects, abstracts, animations, etc. as deep as you would ever want to layer them.

On the other hand -- again, BEYOND is for the top top top level laserists who can basically afford a longer learning curve as a trade for the benefits of what BEYOND has to offer. But at the end of the day, if LD2000 does what you need, then stick with it. It should certainly be around for years to come...
