Default How to test a laser module?

Can anyone tell me how to supply and connect the 5.0 volts to a laser module, or guide me to the info if it is on here etc. ? Does it need to be a " Regulated power supply" ? .........how many milliamps/amps etc. ?
Need to test a laser before my warranty expires..........now that i finally have a meter!

    Thanks guys/girls,

    Peter

The modules are in a ( waiting for a told ya so) "Laserworld Proline 1500mw RGB" .
    650mw of 635nm
    350mw of 532nm
    350mw of 473nm
Don't know the manufacturer of the diodes as they are not labeled.
Also have a supposedly 2.5watt 532nm of their " Club Las Series with a CNI OEM diode".

    Thanks,

    Pete

    lol-

    TOLD YA SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    jk.

the inputs are most likely going to just be analog inputs. so when you test them you are only going to be able to test them at max output. (which is what you want anyway. so you can see the max output).

you should have 2 supplies for each laser. LOOK AT MY POST HERE FOR PICS each of your lasers prob have a black laptop notebook computer looking power supply. the output of those are a regulated 5V. they are used to operate the control input boards for each laser. you can just splice wires off of those supplies to get you a clean 5V power. then you would use that 5V to connect to the inputs of each control supply of each laser. the inputer is going to be the red and black wires plugged into the control boxes where the laser heads themselves are plugged in. i will try to highlight some pics for you and post them.

    did this help at all??
